COFFEE APPRETIATION: BO'S COFFEE

OUR COFFEE INDUSTRY There's nothing wrong with supporting international coffee shops. I am one of those people who enjoy the casual Starbucks Frap. But one thing I realized when I attended this event in SM City (New Branch of Bo's), is that we should also support our country's coffee industry.
Well, It is comforting to know that Bo's Coffee (a coffee shop that originated in Cebu), is joining a cause to promote the Philippine coffee industry.

COFFEE ORIGINS

Coffee beans are named after the place where they originated. It all started out with the idea of showcasing and using Philippine Coffee Origins Arabica beans in their coffees to help out local coffee farmers.

The concept branched out to promoting places, culture, and merchandise to support tourism, homegrown brands, local talent, and Filipino creativity. He then realized that travelers are important conduits and agents to this endeavor.

SAGADA: Sweet, nutty, and well-balanced, with hints of chocolate and fresh tobacco.
Nestled in the center of the Cordillera region in the northern part of the Philippines, the town of Sagada is a popular destination for travelers who are either thrill seekers or nature lovers because of its majestic mountains and natural attractions.

BENGUET: Well-balanced, with herbal notes and a winey taste.
Well-loved for its idyllic landscape and cold weather, the province of Benguet can be found at the Cordillera region in the northern part of the Philippnes.

MT. KITANGLAD: Light and Nutty
Mt. Kitanglad is located in the province of Bukidnon in Mindanao Island. Showcasing various species of flora and fauna, this inactive volcano was declared as an ASEAN Heritage Park in 2009.

MT. APO: Sweet and earthy
A taste profile of coffee beans of Mt. Apo, Sweet and earthy, with low acidity and medium body.

MT. MATUTUM: Berrylike and spicy, with notes of cardamom and camphor.
Mt. Matutum is located in South Cotabato, in the Island of Mindanao, in the southern part of the Philippines. This majestic mountain is abundant with lush foliage, making the home of diverse plant and animal species – one of which is the Philippine Eagle.

A CUP OF COFFEE
For every cup of coffee you order at Bo’s Coffee, you also get to help the hundreds of local coffee farmers and create a positive social impact. Go into their stores and you will see evidence of Filipino ingenuity, from their staff’s uniform to their decors and furniture.
At the new store at SM City Iloilo, Bo’s Coffee chose to highlight the works of Vito Selma who won in the acclaimed French Open for Furniture. Another Philippine pride, he is a master of a whole lot of craftsmanship on wood.

Bo’s Coffee recently expanded its operations in Iloilo City by opening a full store at the Lower Ground Floor of SM City Iloilo Northwing.
